Creativity Coaching

I work with people who are deeply committed to their creative lives—writers, artists, academics, thinkers, and makers—who want to do meaningful work without burning themselves out, flattening their imagination, or turning creativity into a performance of worth.

This is coaching for people who care about the quality of their attention, not just their output. People who are motivated, capable, and often highly self-aware—but who feel blocked, scattered, depleted, or stuck in cycles of pressure, overthinking, or stop–start momentum.

My approach to creativity coaching does not treat your work as a productivity problem to be solved. It treats creativity as a living practice that needs the right conditions to thrive: time, structure, permission, nourishment, and relationship.

At the heart of this work is a simple truth: creativity requires the development of the whole person. Inspiration alone is not enough; discipline alone is not enough; and self-care, when it is framed as an indulgence or an add-on, rarely holds.

How I Work

Creativity coaching with me is reflective, psychologically informed, and deeply practical. We pay close attention to how your creative blocks are formed—not to pathologise them, but to understand what they are protecting, signalling, or responding to. It involves a deep exploration of your unconscious behaviour patterns and beliefs, family dynamics and life purpose to help you know yourself better and grow in confidence and authenticity as an individual.

Rather than chasing confidence or forcing clarity, we focus on cultivating the conditions in which ideas arrive, momentum builds, and work feels alive rather than heavy. Many people discover that what they’ve been calling procrastination, lack of discipline, or self-doubt is actually a mismatch between their creative needs and the structures they’ve been trying to work within.

My approach draws on an evidence-based psychospiritual toolkit that includes CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), MBCT (Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy), NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming), clinical hypnotherapy, yogic philosophy, Jungian analytical psychology, and psychosynthesis. I am a registered member of the General Hypnotherapy Register and the UK Mindfulness Teachers Register. I have a PhD from the University of Leeds and have received additional training at the Institute of Psychosynthesis, University of Middlesex, the UK College of Mindfulness Meditation, and Sadhana Yoga School (RYT-200). As a registered professional, I adhere to the ethical regulations and codes of conduct, which include continuing professional development and ongoing supervision.

  • PhD, English Literature

What We Work On

We all carry a powerful creative self within us, but too often we allow self-doubt, fear of failure, or uncertainty to prevent us from showing our true potential. I specialise in stress reduction, anxiety, personal or professional transition, overcoming limiting beliefs and mindsets, creative blocks, relationship issues, communication, leadership, self-esteem, self-doubt, and perfectionism.

Your coaching will be shaped around your specific creative context, but areas we often explore include:

  • Creative Blocks & Resistance
Understanding why work feels stuck, heavy, or unavailable—and learning how to stay in relationship with your creativity rather than fighting it.
  • Sustainable Creative Practice
Building rhythms, structures, and systems that support your work over time, without rigidity or burnout.
  • Attention, Time & Energy
Working with how your attention actually functions, making time more porous, and learning how creative energy circulates rather than depletes.
  • Identity & Self-Worth
Untangling creativity from performance, comparison, or perfectionism, so your work is no longer carrying the weight of proving who you are.
  • Beginnings, Momentum & Continuity
Developing a lighter, more reliable relationship to starting—and to continuing—without waiting for certainty or confidence to arrive first.
  • Transitions & Re-orientation
Supporting shifts in genre, career stage, life circumstances, or creative direction with clarity and steadiness.
  • Meaning & Depth
For those drawn to the philosophical or contemplative dimensions of creativity, we explore how your work connects to value, purpose, and a larger sense of why it matters.

This coaching is not about quick fixes or surface motivation. It is about re-patterning your relationship to creative work, so that creativity becomes something you can live with, not wrestle into submission.
